Description
The words "wine created from organic grapes" were added to Erbaluna bottle labels, along with the name of the certifying authority for agricultural techniques in accordance with EC Reg. 2092/91.
Erbaluna were regarded as "organic pioneers" during those years, together with a small group of Piedmontese and Tuscan winemakers with whom they shared know- how, aims, and aspirations.
EC Regulations 834/07 and 889/08 have been added to and amended the legislation on the issue over time.
The Standing Committee on Organic Farming (SCOF) of the European Union passed Regulation 203/12 on organic winemaking on February 8, 2012. It went into effect on August 1, 2012, and it regulates organic winemaking practises and oenological aids, among other things.
